Rivals United announcements

Tuesday, Feb. 7th:

DID YOU KNOW: Today is Purple Day in recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness. Crisis Care Line and the YWCA of Van Wert both provide assistance to survivors and children in domestic or family violence. These organizations also work hard to bring awareness and education to our community. Tomorrow’s spirit theme is Pajama and Stuffed Animal Day!

Don’t forget to support your FFA Basketball and Wrestling Teams tonight as they play Crestview! A sponsorship for both activities will be awarded to the winning school and added to our Rivals United total raised.

Wednesday, Feb. 8th:

DID YOU KNOW: Today is Pajama and Stuffed Animal Day. The Van Wert County Humane Society receives funding from the United Way to assist with medical needs of the animals housed at the adoption center. Their primary focus is to advocate and care for the well-being of animals.These animals are often used as an emotional support for individuals within our community by helping reduce stress and anxiety. Tomorrow’s spirit theme is Career/College Day! 

Thursday, Feb. 9th:

DID YOU KNOW: Today is Career/College Day. The United Way funds many programs that aim to provide education throughout the community like Career Connections. Career Connections promote economic education, financial skills, and career readiness for Van Wert County students in grades 2, 4, 5, 6, and 8. Tomorrow’s spirit theme is Spirit/Sports Day! Dress up in your favorite team or school colors!

Don’t forget to support your girls basketball team tonight at Lincolnview as they play Crestview! There will be a Lovers Leap and Hot Shot competition, along with a Dash for Cash during the Varsity Game. All are chances to increase our school’s Rivals United total!

Friday, Feb. 10th:

DID YOU KNOW: Today is Spirit/Sports Day. Each year, the United Way funds Convoy, Middle Point, Willshire and Wren Ballpark programs to assist with entry fees and provide families with a clean, safe environment to enjoy the outdoors at the parks. The United Way also funds programs related to your school, like the Crestview and Lincolnview Latchkey programs, who provide supportive supervision before and/or after school.

TONIGHT the grand total raised this week will be announced at the Boys Varsity Game at Crestview! There will be a Granny Shoot competition, along with a Dash for Cash, for your last chance to add our school’s Rivals United total!
